Effect of additives on polymer crystallization kinetics and mechanical properties.
Project objectives: To predict the properties of a polymer after processing and adding colorants, given the properties of virgin material.
Achieving this objective will involve:
· predicting the properties (including the rheology, PVT and crystallization behaviours) of a polymer compound after adding colorants, nucleants, stabilizers and other additives, given the properties of virgin polymer;
· predicting the injection mould filling of polymers with additives of different types (especially colourants), and at various levels;
· predicting the properties of the injection moulded articles; and
· extending the predictive capability to the blow moulding process.
