High-performance fibers are important materials for paper making, especially for special papers. Good dispersion is the key,factor to,paper forming and paper properties. The dispersion property of AKZO pulp was characterized with Image Analyzer, Zeta Plus and Beta Formation Tester. The results indicated that surfactant B could improve the uniformity of the dispersion system and the hydrotropic polymer APAM could improve the stability. It was also found that AKZO pulp could get an excellent dispersion from polymer and surfactant interaction. The best conditions were: surfactant B 10%, APAM 0.8%.
