One must illustrate the target of polymer science as the starting point of a series of polymer physics lectures. Usually, we pay attention to the chemical and spatial structures of the polymers, but not emphasize their general features that are corresponding to the physical properties. At present, we focus on the chain-like feature of polymers, and illustrate it through two generalities and three individualities of polymer structures, accompanying with the physical properties
which are dominated by these structural features.
