In the molecule of the title compound, C14H9BrN2O, the dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 1.09 (4)degrees. Intramolecular O-H centerdot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0140 angstrom) six-membered ring. In the crystal structure, intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot N interactions link the molecules into chains.
