Variable-stiffness composite changes its stiffness properties by fiber orientation angles varying along the length of laminates. The influence of central cutout and different fiber paths on the stiffness is investigated. An optimal criterion is used to obtain maximal stiffness of laminate in form of irregular fiber paths. A lot of numerical models are set by MSC/Patran based on finite element method (FEM) to analyze properties of variable-stiffness laminate, design high stiffness laminated plates and prove feasibility of the design criterion. |
