Dynamic shear rheology of polyborosilazane (PBSZ) synthesized at 130°C from single-source precursor Cl3Si-NH-BCl2 (TADB) was studied in the paper. The results showed that PBSZ exhibited non-Newtonian behavior, this is usually requirement for its melt spinning. PBSZ was successfully melt spun into green fibers using a laboratory scale equipment. The green fibers with diameters of 20-40 μm were flexible and could be wound into a coil, the continuous fiber reached 1500 meters in length. The surface of the fiber was smooth and the cross section was almost dense revealed by SEM. |
