Thecarboxy-functionalizedmulti-walledcarbonnanotubeswereusedtopreparebiodegradablepolymer/MWNTsnanocompositesthroughsolutioncastingmethod.TheeffectofMWNTsonthemorphology,crystallizationbehaviorandhydrolyticdegradationofmatrixinthenanocompositeswereinvestigated.TheSEMandPOMresultsshowagooddispersionofMWNTsinthematrixwhichleadstoanimprovementinmechanicalproperties.ThecrystallizationbehaviorhasbeenstudiedindetailthroughDSC,POMandWAXD.AlltheresultsindicatethatthecrystallizationprocesshasbeenacceleratedimmenselybythepresenceofMWNTs.ItshouldbenotedthatthedegradationrateofbiodegradablepolymersisincreasedwiththeadditionofMWNTsandvariedregularlywiththeincreaseofMWNTscontents. |
